August 19th and 20th 2017 sees Groove enter its fifth year and join the ranks of Ireland’s top independent festivals. For music lovers, foodies, healthy lifestyle fans and families, there truly is something for everyone in this special weekend. Soak up the last of Summer 2017 with one of the final festivals before the holidays end. Groove opens from 11am daily until 10.30pm.

Where else can you see over 26 top international and local acts, learn from over 20 of the country’s wellness experts, enjoy gourmet festival fayre from over 15 food vendors, and keep the kids entertained, all included in one amazing value ticket price? Groove Festival 2017 promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with tickets starting at just €59.50 plus booking fee for an adult, including unlimited access to the music stages, food village, Thrive wellness area, and the majority of the children’s activities. Not many festivals offer the comfort, ease and flexibility, all in the magnificence of this stunning venue at such a value for money price.

Headliners on the main stage this year range from Primal Scream to Hothouse Flowers, UB40 to Hudson Taylor, Jerry Fish to Spring Break. The Sony Xperia Stage once again proves to be a hotbed of the newest Irish talent around including Katie Laffan, Daithí and Jack O’Rourke. This year acclaimed UK singer-songwriter John Smith will also appear on the stage.

Festival goers in Ireland look for great quality bites to eat and Groove does not disappoint with many delicious and some exclusive food offerings from the likes of Box Burger, Keelings, Boojum, Jaru Korean Kitchen and Killruddery House own chefs. Food lovers can also enjoy the lineup of talks and demos at Groove, with top chefs and producers including Edward Hayden, Sunil Ghai and Oliver McCabe.

New to Groove is a whole new Wellness area, set in a secluded quarter of Killruddery gardens called Thrive. Thrive at Groove is where retreat meets music, and festival goers can relax, rejuvenate and reenergise the mind, body and soul. Enjoy a daytime lineup of talks across wellness, health, parenting and modern living, join in a yoga or pilates class on the movement stage, watch some healthy cooking demos, then after, enjoy a whole other vibe in the main music arenas. Being healthy in body and mind means enjoying life and what better way than to spend a whole day being immersed in both worlds. Dip in to see and hear Derval O’Rourke, Roz Purcell, Andrea Hayes, Emma Buckley, amongst many more in Thrive at Groove.

Groove Festival is definitely one for families.  For the smallest Groovers there are over 10 different activities including an all new family zone, Silly Billy Events, kids cooking with Oliver McCabe, Barilla pasta making, kids yoga classes are just some of the fun to be had. The hugely popular zorbing on the picturesque lakes of Killruddery is back along with the climbing wall where you can view the Estate from lofty heights!

Speaking about Groove Festival 2017, Roger Duggan of Cable Music said “This is an exciting time for Groove – after a very successful 4 years to date building a loyal fan base, now is the time to take Groove to the next level, and to that end we have been working hard with new partners to enhance our food experience and in particular to add a new wellness precinct called Thrive. On top of that we have added lots of new activities for families.”

Wishing to develop Groove into a bigger and better festival, Duggan has partnered with Avril Bannerton and her team of massively experienced event professionals behind the Taste of Dublin Festival. Out of their initial conversations, the food village and Thrive were born plus the children’s area is getting a makeover. Avril Bannerton says of her involvement, “Having first visited Groove a couple of years ago, I have been a big fan of the festival and of Roger’s (Duggan) niche approach for some time. Building on 4 years of Roger’s successes, now is the right time to develop the festival even further by enhancing the food offering and providing festival goers with an even more enriching all day experience. Of course, the music will be great but the carefully selected food vendors combined with the wellness activities at Thrive and expanded family space will offer visitors a great value eclectic mix that is not available elsewhere. As a frequent visitor to Killruddery, I am always struck by how such an extraordinary rural and serene setting can exist on the doorstep of Dublin. Given its size, location and accessibility, Killruddery is an ideal setting for Groove.”

Killruddery House is just a 40-minute drive from Dublin city centre and 20 minutes coming from the west of the city by car with onsite parking, right beside the entrance zone. The N11 is only a stone’s throw from the main entrance taking the Bray south exit. Bray’s DART station will provide feeder busses for a small fee taking you from the station and returning at the end of the night. The 84 bus passes very close to the main gates and the 45/145 buses both go to Bray town centre. Getting to and from Groove is simple, easy and no hassle. It really is Festival of dreams.

Enjoy the beats, with lots of treats to eat.

Meet the wellness experts plus lots of neat stuff for kids.
