04 Jul Cathy Davey returns with her brand new single “The Pattern”

Cathy Davey “The Pattern”
Released July 15th 2016
(Hammer Toe Records)
Cathy Davey returns to the business of music. “The Pattern” is her first solo release since the No.1 album “The Nameless”.
The Pattern is a catchy danceable tune in which Cathy has moved on musically, you may hear echoes of Goldfrapp or even Roisin Murphy in the mix.
It’s hard to decipher influences in Cathy’s work, she plays every instrument, largely records and produces her own music and so if there are influences, they can be deep and devilishly hard to isolate.
We hope to bring you some interesting remixes of The Pattern before the summer is out. The video was shot by Seven Figures Films, the brainchild of Elijah Egan, it’s director.
Where has she been for the last six years? Not idle…realising charity albums, writing for film and TV, and setting up her own charity, My Lovely Horse Rescue. Now a mainstay of Electric Picnic, MLHR is where Cathy has been able to explore and enjoy her love of animals, saving them from their abusive pasts. The charity is blossoming, and it’s time to get back to music, her first love, and where she belongs, right at the very top of the Irish music tree. The Pattern is taken from her fourth album, due for release this autumn.
